Earlier this month, I visited Westport and had the luxury of staying in the beautiful lodge on Collanmore Island, just off Clew Bay. The accommodation could not be faulted and boasted a lovely and warm, yet contemporary interior.

It had been my first time to visit Westport, and I can't definitely say it won't be my last! Although we felt like we were in another world with such scenic views, we were only a few minutes from the beautiful town itself. Westport is a town with great character and has something to offer everyone.

Our trip consisted of two days, jam-packed with various activities such as; archery, paint balling, kayaking, horse riding, high rope challenges, line zipping and much much more. What I really admired about The Adventure Islands is that there's something there for everyone. You don't have to be the most daring or sporty to enjoy all of the activities that are on offer as there is such a vast range of things to do.

I'd also like to give mention to the outstanding staff who guided us over the course of our stay. Every need was catered for and our party felt very comfortable trying out new activities. All aspects of our trip were run extremely well, and our days were full of exciting adventures!

Between accommodation, location and the list of things to do at The Adventure Islands this trip is one I'll never forget. I'm already planning my trip for next year!

5 starts all around! Can't wait to go back! (Visited August 2015)

We organised my sister's hen-do at the lodge on Collanmore Island. The house itself is beautiful, the scenery breathtaking, and the facilities top-notch.

We arrived on a Friday afternoon/evening and were greeted by fun and friendly staff, who had even lit the log-burner in anticipation of our onslaught. On Saturday we went kayaking and did the water park on the island, and then warmed up afterwards in the hot-tub. The lodge comes fully equipped with almost everything you could ever need, and Ciaran and his team are fantastic. We visited Westport town on the Saturday evening for dinner at Mango's (delicious) and a tour of some bars, before returning to the island.

All 13 girls on the hen agreed that they had an amazing experience - and my sister actually refused to leave at one point on the final day.

Many thanks to Ciaran, Paddy, Michelle and Carolina for a great experience.

Highly recommended, will definitely be back. (Visited April 2015)

Was out with (instructor) Paddy luckily we got a session with just the 2 of us and paddy we were out early at 9am. It was our first time so we did not know what to expect we picked the 3 hours session. Was good to get into the kayak without falling into the water. So we took off Paddy explained what the plan was and we were heading for where the seals were. The scenery alone is worth the fee. Being out on the kayaks really shows that the scenery of clew bay look on to Croagh Patrick. We took of across the bay thankfully it was a calm and sunny day. We got over to where the seals were we were met by the bull (adult male) seal as if like border patrol. We continued into "their area" where we were met by loads of seals popping there heads up around the kayaks then go off and then out of know where they would pop your head. Paddy counted 20-30 at one stage they were swimming around up and then at one stage when we just floating about 8/9 surrounded us. I think they were as interested in us as we were off them. It was a great experience to see them just flying around the place. We decided to head back and we set off to get back to land the seals followed us for ages as we were got past "border patrol" the adult male stuck his head up again to say you were free to leave. We were getting further away and a seal would pop there head again. We eventually got back to land and looked back to where we were. Overall it was a great 3 hours being complete novices we didn't fall out of the kayaks once. The highlight was of course the seals. Highly recommended and if have a chance. Thanks to Paddy as well for all his information and the 3 hours flew by. Very happy customers (Visited August 2014)

Myself my husband and 2 children stayed at the Collanmore Island lodge for one night in Aug '14. This was a great escape from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives. We were the only people on the island and this added to the relaxing experience we craved. The accommodation was amazing with a fab open plan kitchen diner with amazing views of Clew Bay. All room's en-suite, a big jacuzzi and your very own bar. We went on a breathtaking walk around the island where we took in the amazing 360-degree views of Clew Bay. There is a children's play area outside with their very own climbing wall and slides and a BBQ area for anyone wanting to dine outdoors. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone who is looking to get away from it all. (Visited August 2014) www.collanmoreislandlodge.com or call 0862518252

I thought it was time to write my review on Collanmore Lodge. I have been there 3 times this summer. I was there for two hen nights and one family birthday celebration. I cannot recommend it enough. My favourite part of each trip is the reaction of guests when they step off the boat and see the lodge and the location for the first time. 'Wow', 'Holy C*&p', 'Where did you find this?', 'Cool they have a bar' etc

Ciarán was really welcoming each time we arrived and Paddy was so helpful throughout the weekend ferrying us to and from the pier. Catherine sorted out all the logistics from the office and made sure we had the package we wanted. We spent time in the water park last weekend and had a ball. We went swimming and paddle boarding too. The garden was perfect for the 6 kids and the parents felt that they were really safe. The house itself it great for hosting large dinner parties and the hot tub makes you feel like a superstar. I will definitely be back again in the new year. Thanks to all involved and good luck in the future.

My friends had organised my hen do last weekend with Adventure Islands and what a fantastic time we had!

We arrived a bit later than expected (due to the amount of toilet stops on the way down from Belfast lol) and as I was still in the dark as to where we were going or what we were doing for the weekend I was blown over by the fact we had to get a boat over to an island! Ciaran was a fantastic host from the word go and the house was even heated for our arrival.

All the girls were blown away by the house on Collanmore Island and it had everything you could think of.....hot tub...sauna...your own little irish pub....the most powerful showers ever and THE most comfiest beds I have ever slept in!!

On the Saturday we went back over to the mainland and did archery tag and the high ropes. It was fantastic from start to finish and Ciaran and the rest of the staff were such good craic. We had intended to go out that night in Westport but due to the weather and high winds we decided to stay in......why go out when you are staying in such a beautiful house!

So a BIG thank you to Ciaran and the rest of the staff for a very memorable weekend at the Adventure Islands! I would recommended this place to anyone looking to stay in a gorgeous house with lots of fun activities to do during the day. I would go back here in a heartbeat!!! (Visited March 2015)

The Adventure Island is multi-activity experience, everything from sea activities to cycling and general exploring. Ciaran and the team go the extra mile to really give everyone a fantastic experience. I would highly recommend this for a stags, hens, work event or generally just having a bit of craic in the west with your mates. Westport itself is beautiful and doesn’t have that commercial feel of it. There are excellent places to eat and some fantastic bars to enjoy a relaxing drink after a fun filled day. We left 6 children at 9.30 in the morning and off they went on a rib boat to the island - they were collected at 5pm - and they were full of stories of their fantastic day - they particularly loved the crab-fishing, the waterpark / obstacle course, the sea-trampoline and the sea kayaking. Our 9 and 10 year olds were able to do everything, though our 8 year old was a little over-awed by some activities. The instructors were really good - particularly Paddy ("Paddy-Cake"), Kian, Shaun and Kelly. The kids are totally looking forward to going back again... (Visited July 2015)
